Investing in our workforce to deliver a seamless customer experience

Technology is constantly evolving, creating challenges for companies to ensure their employees stay abreast of the current products and services. The inevitable shift to the cloud and the more recent boom in the adoption of innovations such as generative AI, blockchain and machine learning – to name a few – are driving massive demand for substantial upskilling and cultural change across industries. That’s why Atos has joined forces with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to empower thousands of our employees in a tailored approach to build both foundational cloud and deep technical specialty skills that will ensure service continuity for our customers throughout their digital transformation journey.

CloudCatalyst

In November of 2022, Atos and AWS announced CloudCatalyst, a partnership to supercharge cloud adoption for our clients, and a cornerstone of this agreement is Atos’ commitment to upskill engineers and operations specialists in core AWS technologies. We jointly created a multi-year program to invest in the deep technical enablement of talent, encompassing 15 separate AWS role-based learning curriculums aligned to the specific functions of our people. In the first year alone, Atos has already engaged more than 4,000 employees in the various curriculums, which represents 7 percent of the workforce, and is targeting over 1,000 certifications and several thousand badges. We aspire to enable all 55,000 Atos employees with cloud knowledge over five years, fostering a truly cloud-first mentality across the business.

Cloud-First Culture

We know migrating to the cloud is a big change. Having a cloud-first culture is Atos’ commitment to deliver a unique, seamless service experience so our customers can feel comfortable knowing that the Atos teams who have continuously supported them in the past, will be equipped to continue supporting them in the future. Atos prides itself on providing excellent client support and satisfaction, because of the exceptional skills of our operations teams, often with decades of experience in managing IT. Maintaining this unique customer understanding and expertise, ensures superior care throughout our customers’ cloud journey.

AWS Workforce Transformation

Transforming employees across the world into cloud experts is a significant investment in our people that we have undertaken in collaboration with AWS. On average, it takes 160 intensive course hours to complete each of the 15 technical curriculums and acquire the related AWS skills for the learning paths to achieve the AWS Cloud Practitioner and deep technical role-based certifications.

Additionally, Atos is promoting the AWS Cloud Practitioner curriculum across the business to validate cloud fluency and foundational AWS knowledge, regardless of functions or roles.

The AWS Workforce Transformation is a significant organizational change that positions Atos, and our talent, towards a successful future and a culture of cloud-first innovation. This effort makes us not only future-ready, but future-proof to service our customers in the long run. With more than 4,000 people already engaged – not only technical, but pre-sales, sales, leaders and high-level executives, and more – becoming cloud gurus to help our customers focus on their business, while we focus on ensuring they have their IT needs met and exceeded.

Challenger Program

And the emphasis on education doesn’t stop here. Atos and AWS have also launched a 4-week challenger program to make the AWS Cloud Practitioner and the Generative AI trainings available to anyone who’s passionate about technology. The Challenger Program was designed to motivate and reward talent who want to advance their cloud skills and knowledge even further. In the first wave, over 2,000 Atos employees voluntarily signed up for the challenge – representing a third of the Hybrid Cloud & Infrastructure business.

Conclusion

Atos is committed to being a leader in cloud transformation and business innovation. By partnering with AWS and investing in the cloud skills of our employees, Atos is creating a cloud-first culture that benefits both its clients and its people. We are not only ready for the future; we are helping to shape it.
